VIETNAM EVENT IN 2009

The Khanh Hoa province vice leader said Wednesday that he was confident Vietnamese organizers would meet the Miss Universe pageant’s requirements and host the 2008 competition

Miss Universe chairwoman Paula Mary Shugart has said that only once the government has approved the project and local organizers have proved their ability to meet budget and facility requirements would the panel officially sign a contract to hold the event in Vietnam.
The competition requires a US$15 million dollar investment including a new concert hall. Khanh Hoa officials and organizers are planning to hold the event in Nha Trang, Vietnam’s most popular beach destination.
Vice chairman of Khanh Hoa’s People’s Committee Le Xuan said that Hoan Vu Corp., Miss Universe’s Vietnamese organizing partner, plans to build a new 7,500-seat theater and would begin construction as soon as the central government ratified its proposal.
Than also said that government funds would not be spent on the event, but according to Hoan Vu Corp., the firm will be able to cover the cost of the show.
Than also said the province was upgrading Cam Ranh Airport to facilitate international flights while improving accommodation standards around Nha Trang to welcome the large number of visitors expected to flood the beach town for the pageant.
Authorities from the south-central province will now have to submit a report to the Government Office and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the project’s approval.
Several critics of the controversial plan have said that it would be a great waste of money to spend millions of dollars on a beauty contest while the country is still needs funds for development.
Holding such an event is never financially simple, according to Shane St. Michael, a member of the 2005 Miss Universe organizing board in Thailand.
“Although it [the event] was partly subsidized by the government, we still suffered a $1 million loss,” he said.

Vietnam's bridge toll rises to 49

Recovery workers dug out three bodies on Saturday from the rubble of a section of collapsed bridge, raising the death toll from the disaster in southern Vietnam to 49, the Transport Minister said.
At a news conference near the site, the minister and an executive from one of the Japanese companies building the bridge over a river apologized for Wednesday's accident, Vietnam's worst bridge disaster.
The accident injured 82 workers, some with critical head wounds and three others were still missing, Transport Minister Ho Nghia Dung said.
"From the bottom of my heart, I apologize for letting this accident happen," Kanji Hayama, President and Chief Executive of Taisei Corp, told reporters.
Taisei Corp along with Kajima Corp and Nippon Steel Engineering Co form a consortium building the mid-section of the bridge, which had an initial investment of more than US$300 million.
The reason for the collapse of a 90-meter (300-foot) section was not clear but authorities are investigating.
Officials said rains might have softened the foundations, causing scaffolding to collapse and bringing down the section.
"After conducting a review, if it is the responsibility the Transport Ministry and its minister has to take, I will consider a resignation," Dung said.
He said the collapse of two bridge spans being built over the Hau river between Can Tho city and Vinh Long province in the Mekong Delta had killed 49 workers, including the three bodies recovered on Saturday.
Cranes continued lifting broken steel frames and slabs of concrete from places in the rubble identified by sniffer dogs and workers used their hands to remove debris.
Soldiers, police and construction workers were working around the clock searching for victims.
A memorial ceremony was scheduled on Sunday at the accident site where construction of the 2.75-km (1.7-mile) bridge started in 2004.
The Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper quoted the chief of Can Tho city's Communist Party unit, Nguyen Tan Quyen, as saying that completion of the bridge could be delayed by up to four months. It was originally scheduled to open for traffic in December 2008.
Vietnam is developing its roads, bridges and ports to keep up with an economy growing at more than 8 percent a year.

EVERTON 2-0 MIDLESBROUGH

Middlesbrough's miserable run at Goodison Park continued as they crashed to a 2-0 defeat against Everton.
Joleon Lescott and Steven Pienaar handed Everton the victory and ensured Boro's seven-year run without a league win at the home of The Toffees continues.
Lescott headed in after seven minutes when a Mikel Arteta corner caused havoc in the Boro box and, as Jonathan Woodgate and David Wheater collided in their scrambled attempts to clear, the centre-back calmly converted.
Middlesbrough - George Boateng, Gary O'Neil and Dong-Gook Lee in particular - were guilty of missing gift-wrapped chances in the early phases, while Everton were unfortunate not to double their lead when former Boro boy Yakubu Aiyegbeni headed over.
Boro then dominated the opening exchanges of the second 45 minutes, but Pienaar prodded home his first Everton goal 13 minutes after the interval having been wonderfully set up by Arteta.
Middlesbrough threw centre-back Wheater up front in an attempt to fight their way back into the game, but Everton comfortably held on for the points and move up to fifth in the Premier League.
Inspired
Arteta, who inspired Everton all afternoon, was one of five changes to the Toffees side beaten 2-0 at Villa Park last weekend, with Yakubu also given the nod to start against his former side.
Boro, who lacked an influential force such as Arteta, made two changes from their last Premier League outing, recalled skipper Boateng and Lee for the injured Julio Arca and Tuncay Sanli.
Without a home win since the opening-day victory against Wigan and deprived of the misfiring Andrew Johnson (groin), Everton were looking to bounce back from two straight league defeats.
Boro were also struggling for form, having not won in their last three in all competitions.
It did not take long for the scoring to begin when Lescott nodded in, but five minutes later Boro wasted a glorious opportunity to level.
Mido headed a cross down to the unmarked O'Neil, who had time to steady himself but still scuffed his finish straight at Tim Howard in the Everton goal.
Guilty
Both sides were then guilty of glaring headed misses, Yakubu first when he somehow sent over a pinpoint Leighton Baines cross following a clever corner routine.
Lee followed when his effort from O'Neil's centre cannoned off the crossbar.
Yakubu, who was desperate to find the back of the net against his former employers, then volleyed a snapshot straight down Boro goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer's throat.
Schwarzer had to be more alert to clasp a deflected drive by the excellent Arteta shortly after.
McFadden then tested Schwarzer again from Baines' centre but his aerial effort lacked any power.
That sparked Everton's most dominant spell of first half but their finishing continued to leave something to be desired.
Beautiful
Boateng added his name to the growing list of poor headers after the break when he mistimed his jump for Stewart Downing's corner.
Lee again demonstrated why he had failed to find the net in 14 previous league appearances by volleying well wide.
Moments later Boro fell two behind when Pienaar robbed Boateng before feeding Arteta who returned with a beautifully disguised pass allowing his team-mate to hit home.
A raft of substitutions followed, Boro boss Gareth Southgate perhaps sending a message to both Mido and Lee by withdrawing both and deploying Wheater as a makeshift centre-forward.
It had little effect, with opposite number David Moyes afforded the luxury in stoppage-time of bringing off Arteta to a richly-deserved standing ovation.

Premier League: Result

Ronaldo the United hero

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the game as Manchester United secured their fifth successive Premier League victory.
The champions were again far from their best but took advantage of Birmingham's attacking profligacy and defensive generosity to claim another three-point haul.
Steve Bruce's side missed several good chances and were made to pay when Franck Queudrue foolishly allowed a long ball into the box to bounce with Ronaldo lurking.
The Portugal international needed no second invitation and stole in ahead of Queudrue before cutting across Liam Ridgewell, rounding Maik Taylor and rolling home in the 51st minute.
Sir Alex Ferguson was forced to replace goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar at the interval after he suffered a toe injury, with replacement Tomasz Kuszczak producing a stunning point-blank reaction save after Rio Ferdinand had deflected Gary McSheffrey's driven shot.

La Liga: Henry with "The First hattrick at Barcelona"...

Levante 1-4
BarcelonaThierry Henry grabbed a hat-trick as Barcelona thrashed bottom-of-the-table Levante on Saturday.
The former Arsenal striker netted after 17, 24 and 48 minutes to end his Primera Liga goal drought and set Barcelona on the road to a comprehensive victory which sees them move provisionally top of the Primera Liga.
Lionel Messi added a fourth goal for the Catalans and Emilio Viqueira scored a late penalty for the home side.
Frank Rijkaard's side created their first chance after 12 minutes.
Gabriel Milito headed Deco's long ball into the path of Messi, but the Argentina winger arrived just too late and was unable to make contact.
Deco then fired a free-kick over the bar from long range after 15 minutes as Barcelona began to dominate.
Two minutes later, they were ahead.
Levante goalkeeper Marco Storari could only clear Deco's cross as far as Xavi, who quickly found Messi.
Storari parried the Argentinian's shot, but Henry was at hand to fire home the rebound and score his first Primera Liga goal since arriving from Arsenal in the summer.
Seven minutes later, Henry scored again.
This time, Messi charged forward and squared for the unmarked Frenchman, who tapped home from close range to double Barcelona's lead.
The duo combined well again just before half-time, but Messi saw his effort drift just wide on this occasion following Henry's exquisite pass.
The start of the second period saw the return of Barca captain Carles Puyol, who ended three frustrating months of inactivity when he replaced the injured Milito.
But it was all about Henry and the Frenchman completed his hat-trick just three minutes after the restart.
The 29-year-old striker was left in acres of space by the Levante back line and coolly slotted home after good work from Deco on the right hand side.
Two minutes later, Rijkaard's team went four up after a fine Messi solo effort.
The Argentinian jinked past his marker and into the area after 51 minutes, before slotting home a low angled drive to leave Levante well-beaten and bag his sixth goal in four games.
It was to be the winger's last contribution to the match, after he was replaced - to a standing ovation from the visiting support - by young Mexico forward Giovani Dos Santos a minute later.
Dos Santos had the ball in the net after 68 minutes, but the Mexican was deemed to be in an offside position and his strike did not count.
Barcelona continued to dominate, but Levante pulled a goal back five minutes later from the penalty spot after Puyol had brought down Alex Geijo.
Viqueira stepped up and fired past Valdes to reduce the deficit, but it was nothing more than a consolation for Levante, who remain rooted to the bottom of the Primera Liga.
Barcelona, meanwhile, inspired by a brilliant and long-overdue performance from Henry, go top and continue to shine.
Levante 1-4 Barcelona

Real Zaragoza 2-0 Sevilla
Serie A round-up

Internazionale have moved clear of the top of the Serie A table with a thumping 4-1 win over Roma, while Fiorentina are now second.
The sides began the day unbeaten and level on 11 points, however, Inter put 10-man Roma to the sword at Stadio Olimpico.
Roma were always up against after Ludovic Giuly's deliberate handball resulted in a red card with Zlatan Ibrahimovic slotting home the resulting penalty.
Despite the man disadvantage Simone Perrotta levelled matters, although is was a brief respite for the home side.
Hernan Crespo restored Inter's lead with further efforts from Julio Cruz and Ivan Cordoba rounding off a fine success.
Fiorentina are now second behind Inter after a 3-0 success over 10-man Livorno in a fiery encounter.
Pablo Osvaldo opened the scoring with Massimo Loviso seeing red shortly after the hour mark.
Osvaldo added his second minutes later with Mario Santana's strike ending any hopes of a Livorno comeback.

Rescuers find more bodies in Vietnam bridge disaster

Rescue workers found six more bodies Thursday in the rubble of a bridge that collapsed in southern Vietnam, the country's worst bridge accident in which up to 43 workers were killed.
Rescuers worked through the night cutting away steel scaffolding and concrete from Wednesday's disaster in the Mekong Delta where a section of a Japanese-funded bridge under construction collapsed while 250 workers were on the site.
"Overnight we have retrieved five more bodies," Transport Minister Ho Nghia Dung told Reuters TV at the scene of the collapse near the heavily trafficked Hau River that separates the city of Can Tho from Vinh Long province.
Relatives of construction workers kept an overnight vigil near the cordoned-off disaster area, which is about 170 km (105 miles) southwest of the commercial center of Ho Chi Minh City.
One woman fainted in grief when she was told that her husband's body was among the five.
About 100 workers were reported hurt, an estimated 17 with critical head injuries, a hospital official said.
The transport minister said so far 42 bodies had been identified and 87 people were injured, but more people were believed to be missing.
"Our top priority is to look for the remaining missing," Dung said. "This is the worst bridge accident in Vietnam's history."
Dung said construction would resume as soon as the site was cleared and safe.
The reason for the collapse was not immediately known, but officials said rains may have softened the foundation, causing scaffolding to collapse and bringing down a 90-metre (300-foot) section that had been built on Tuesday.
The twisted mass of steel, broken concrete and bent scaffolding stood at the height of a five-storey building about 500 meters (550 yards) from the river in Vinh Long.
Construction cranes lifted battered scaffolding and other material as workers in hard hats carefully sifted through debris.
Developing Vietnam is ramping up infrastructure projects to keep pace with an economy growing at more than 8 percent a year.
Japanese aid and a Japanese joint venture have been working on the bridge since 2004 to link Can Tho and Vinh Long province. The construction of a 2.75-km (1.7-mile) bridge was to have been completed by next year.

FOOTBALL "CORNER"

"Real return to the top"

Real Madrid rode their luck at times but returned to the top of the La Liga table following a 2-0 victory over Real Betis on Thursday night.
Second-half goals from Raul and Julio Baptista continued the champions' unbeaten start to the season, but Betis hit the woodwork on three occasions during a frustrating night at the Bernabeu.
David Rivas saw a 39th minute header from a corner thump against the post in the first moment of danger.
Real coach Bernd Schuster changed things around early in the second half when he sent on Arjen Robben and Robinho.
And the arrival of Robben did the trick as his jinking run opened up the defence before Raul was brought down by Rivas in the penalty area.
Raul slotted home the spot-kick to give his side a 66th minute lead, but Betis responded and twice hit the woodwork in quick succession as first Mahamadou Diarra sliced a clearance onto his own crossbar before Gonzalez's drive cannoned away off the left-hand upright.
However, Real were not to be denied and substitute Baptista wrapped up the points with a superb overhead kick with five minutes remaining.

Sport news in week...."24th SEA Games: special meals for key athletes"

Top athletes who will represent Vietnam at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and who can win gold medals for Vietnam at the upcoming SEA Games will be provided with special meals worth VND130,000 (US$8) per day.

This new pay for meals of members of national sports teams will be applied as of October 1. Other athletes will enjoy meals of VND100,000/per day instead of VND60,000/day at present.

This is a result of an urgent meeting of sports leaders on September 27. Instead of discussing issues related to the 24th SEA Games, sports leaders talked about preparation for the Indoor Games in October.

They also decided to increase the pay for food of athletes from VND60,000 to VND100,000 and VND130,000 for key athletes per day.

According to Hoang Vinh Giang, head of the Vietnamese sports delegation to the 24th SEA Games, pay for food of athletes will be shared among the Committee for Sports and Physical Training, local Departments of Sports and Physical Training, especially the departments of big cities like Hanoi and HCM City as of the next SEA Games.

Bridge collapse: irregular numbers

The death toll, the numbers of injured and missing victims are different from different sources, obscuring information about the Can Tho bridge collapse. Meanwhile, death is real and human life is not a joke.
On September 27 in the evening, the death toll was defined to be 48 and some workers could be still under concrete with the faint hope of survival.

Meanwhile, the death toll reported to President Nguyen Minh Triet at noon on the same day was 43. After that, rescue workers found five more bodies.

On the night of September 26, when Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Trung Hai arrived at the site of incident, the contractor told him the death toll was 37. At the same time, the death toll collected by VietNamNet Bridge reporters at Military Hospital 121 was 43.

At 3.50 on September 26, major-general Tran Phi Ho, Deputy Commander of Military Zone 9, who led rescue work, told reporters that there were 47 dead already. Several minutes later, he said that the figure was 49, with two more bodies found.

This morning, September 28, Nguyen Van Cong, spokesman for the Transport Ministry, told AP that the death toll was 46, with 82 injured and 7 missing.

Thus, the death toll has decreased while more bodies have been found.

According to the latest statistics provided by the spokesman of the Transport Ministry the number is 135, while the number that the contractor told Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai is 128.

So what is the exact number of workers who were working at the construction site when the tragedy happened?

While that question has not been answered yet, the number of victims is changing, worrying people, especially the families with members working for the Can Tho bridge project.

My Hoa commune, in Binh Minh district, Vinh Long province is the place suffering the most from the bridge collapse since many villagers work for this project. On September 27, 22 funerals were held in this commune.

The General Department of Police on September 27 began to search the site of the incident to seek the reason for the collapse. Representatives of the contractor and builders were convened to serve inspection.

More than 200 policemen of the General Department of Police and many local policemen are at the site to seek the remaining victims, protect the site and keep security there.

Country profile: Vietnam

Vietnam, a one-party communist state, has one of south-east Asia's fastest-growing economies and has set its sights on becoming a developed nation by 2020.

It became a unified country in 1976 after the armed forces of the communist north had seized the south of the country in the previous year.
This followed three decades of bitter independence wars, which the communists fought first against the colonial power France, then against US-backed South Vietnam. In its latter stages, this conflict held the attention of the world.

The US had entered hostilities to stem the "domino effect" of successive nations falling to communism.
The jungle war produced heavy casualties on both sides, atrocities against civilians, and the indiscriminate destruction and contamination of much of the landscape.
A visit to Vietnam by US President Bill Clinton in November 2000 was presented as the culmination of American efforts to normalise relations with the former enemy.

Vietnam struggled to find its feet after unification and it tried at first to organise the agriculture-based economy along strict collectivist lines.
But elements of market forces and private enterprise were were introduced from the late 1980s and a stock exchange opened in 2000.
Foreign investment has grown and the US is Vietnam's main trading partner. In the cities, the consumer market is fuelled by the appetite of a young, middle class for electronic and luxury goods. After 12 years of negotiations the country joined the World Trade Organization in January 2007.
But the disparity in wealth between urban and rural Vietnam is wide and some Communist Party leaders worry that too much economic liberalisation will weaken their power base and introduce "decadent" ideas into Vietnamese society.
Vietnam has been accused of suppressing political dissent and religious freedom. Rights groups have singled out Hanoi's treatment of ethnic minority hill tribe people, collectively known as Montagnards.

LEADER

The Communist Party holds the real power in Vietnam. It reappointed Nong Duc Manh as its secretary-general in April 2006.
Mr Manh, who is seen as a moderniser, urged Vietnam to speed up economic reforms and to tackle bureaucracy and deep-rooted corruption.
He says he wants to "lift people from poverty and hunger" and to turn Vietnam into a developed, industrialised country.
Mr Manh began his first term in 2001, becoming the first secretary-general with no direct experience of the struggle for independence. He oversaw five years of strong economic growth.
The Communist Party leadership recommends candidates for the posts of president and prime minister.

Can Tho bridge collapses, dozens of people die...

A suspension bridge crossing the Hau River in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, which was being built, suddenly collapsed this morning, September 26, killing dozens of engineers and workers.
Manh Hung, leader of construction team No.7, said: “This morning, when we were working, we suddenly heard a great explosion at a bridge-head. Dust covered a great air space while workers screamed out. The scene was so terrible. The whole great block of concrete fell on people below.”

The collapsed concrete girder crossing pillars No. 13, 14, 15 totalling 87m in length and 24m in width was poured yesterday. The incident occurred while around 250-260 workers of three Japanese contractors, Taisei, Kazima, and Nipponsteel, were working on the girder.

The initial reason for the collapse, according to local police, was that the 30m-heigh scaffolding system which was supporting the above girder was weak and collapsed, causing the concrete to fall.

Nguyen Quoc Vu, leader of the first-aid team at Vinh Long Hospital, said that as of 1pm this afternoon, 108 victims had been pulled out from the collapsed concrete block, many of whom were dead. All of the victims are male. Many people are still in the pile of concrete.

“We couldn’t directly go in to take victims out. The bridge project management board’s reaction is slow. We must do more quickly otherwise the remaining victims may die after 24 hours because of suffocation and exhaustion,” he said.

Survivors have been taken to Can Tho General Hospital and some district hospitals of Vinh Long province which are near to the incident site.

According to Can Tho General Hospital, of 40 hospitalised victims, around ten have died. At the Military Hospital 121, 25 others have died. The 30/4 Hospital in Can Tho City has received 17 victims, two of whom have died.

This morning nearly 1,000 local people went to the Can Tho Hematology Centre to donate their blood to save victims of the bridge collapse. The centre’s director Nguyen Ngoc Huynh said that it had received around 700 units of blood of various types.

“We had to refuse 300 blood donors because the volume of blood collected from other donors at local hospitals is enough. Around 2,000 people have registered for blood donation. This is the first accident that we have had to collect such a great volume of blood,” Mr. Huynh said.
This bridge is 16km in length, with the longest span of 550m. The construction of the bridge commenced in September 2004 and is scheduled to be completed in 2008. This is the longest and most modern bridge in the Mekong Delta with total investment capital of VND4,832 billion. The whole capital is official development assistance (ODA) capital of Japan, which is disbursed via the Japan Cooperation Bank.

Minister of Construction Ho Nghia Dung this morning sent an urgent report to the government about the collapse of Can Tho bridge and he flew to Can Tho this noon.

Nguyen Van Cong, Transport Ministry Office Manager, said that the ministry would focus on dealing with the consequences of the accident. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai instructed the Transport Ministry to urgently work with the Departments of Transport of Can Tho and Vinh Long provinces to solve the consequences of the accident.

The Transport Ministry has set up a board to solve the consequences of the accident led by Deputy Minister Ngo Thinh Duc.

According to Nguyen Ngoc Long, Head of the Quality Examination and Management of Transport Work Agency, the incident happened because of loose supervision of contractors.

Today News: "DISASTER ON CAN THO BRIDGE IN VIETNAM"

The Health Ministry on the day quickly sent a working team led by Deputy Minister Tran Chi Liem, who is Head of the Department for Countering Disasters and Search and Rescue, to the scene to lead the rescue and post-accident response teams.A team from the mobile police regimen of the southwestern region, known as E 21, came to the construction site to join the rescue operation and begin preliminary investigations into the cause of the collapse. By 2 p.m., the number of fatalities as a result of the collapse reached 34 with an additional 174 people currently receiving treatment at hospitals in the locality and Ho Chi Minh City . It was reported that about 250 workers and engineers were working on the bridge when the accident occurred at 8 a.m. The span that collapsed was 90 metres long and was part of the bridge’s approaching road. Initial reports said the cause of the accident might be traced back to the weak support frame system. Workers had been pouring concrete over that section for last several days. The Can Tho bridge is being built across the Hau River, a branch of the Mekong River , in Can Tho City, a heavily travelled route that links the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City. It is the longest bridge in the Mekong delta so far. Construction of the Can Tho bridge began in 2004 and is slated for completion next year.

Party and Government leaders on September 26 sent condolences to the families of victims following the collapse of the Can Tho bridge in the Mekong delta province of Can Tho earlier the same day.

Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung ordered relevant agencies to prioritise the search for the missing and give prompt treatment to the 174 people injured by the collapse. They also ordered government ministries and authorities from Vinh Long province and Can Tho City to provide financial assistance to the families of the victims and the injured.

My Idol in football - Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Name: RUUD VAN NISTEROOY
Current Team: Read Madrid.
Date of Birth: 01 /07/1976
Place of Birth: Oss Holland
Height: 6'2"
Position: Forward
18 caps and 8 goals for Holland. After an abortive attempt in 2000, Manchester United finally managed to sign Van Nistelrooy from PSV Eindhoven in April 2001 for a British record fee of £19 million.Van Nistelrooy has gone on to score 36 goals in 49 appearances for Manchester United.

After a season in which Van Nistelrooy found his goalscoring talents sidelined by injury he burst back onto the Premiership scene in 2005/06. The Manchester United striker returned to his plundering best alongside Wayne Rooney, topping the division's goalscoring charts. He had suffered his first barren season in United colours in 2004/05, scoring a paltry six league goals.Van Nistelrooy was tracked by many of the top clubs due to his prolific record with PSV, in his second season at the club he had netted another 29 goals and was again the top scorer in Holland. The striker was tracked by Manchester United and looked certain to move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2000. But the transfer collapsed when Van Nistelrooy broke down in training with a cruciate knee ligament injury just days after the £18.5million deal had hit the skids after United's medical team had found problems with his medial ligaments. He returned to action in March 2001 and was immediately back among the goals, scoring twice to help PSV into the Dutch Cup final.United were forced to pay PSV an increased price of £19million for the player's services and the forward passed a thorough medical. From his career lying in tatters on an Eindhoven training ground Van Nistelrooy became one of the most coveted strikers in Europe. After a goal on his debut in the Charity Shield against Liverpool, his start to the 2000/01 season was slower than expected, - perhaps a legacy of the much-criticised 4-5-1 formation Sir Alex Ferguson employed in United's stuttering start to the season. He was also on fire in the Champions League where he finished top scorer in the competition with ten goals. In Europe he played in that lone role and grew into a target man of real class, though it was in tandem with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that the Dutchman really flew.Back to fitness for 2005/06, Van Nistelrooy found the goals flowing freely once more. His partnership with England striker Wayne Rooney continued to blossom and while United had problems in other areas of the pitch the strikeforce was deadly. He made his 200th club appearance in 2005/06 and bagged his 150th goal to continue an amazing goals to games ratio for the Red Devils.

MAGNANIMOUS HISTORY AT MY LIBERTY NEED COME ON...

Tay Son Military Music - Binh Dinh province

According to legend, Tay Son military music was composed by three heroes who were farmers named Nguyen Hue. They aimed to use martial arts as a force of revolt. With the set of 17 drums, a player is supposed to use both his palms to hit 12 drums and his head, elbows, and heels to hit the other five. Players who could play the 17 drums effectively were deemed masters of this musical form. Later generations have learned to play this kind of music to worship the three heroes and their followers who sacrificed their lives to sweep out invaders. Tay Son Military Music consists of four items: Troop Dispatching, Military Marching, Troop Stop, and Triumphant Hymn. Tay Son Military Music has become a valued art heritage of the Vietnamese.

MY LIBERTY..."QUY NHƠN CITY"

Quy Nhon , the capital city of Binh Dinh Province in central Vietnam, is known for its sunny, sandy beaches. One of its main attractions is the fishing village Ghenh Rang, 2km from the city center. The area is nestled between a steep mountain and the East Sea.
From the mountainside, visitors can see the entire eastern part of Quy Nhon as well as Phuong Mai Peninsula and Thi Nai Lagoon. At the foot of Ghenh Rang is a quiet, secluded stretch of sand, known as Queen Beach, noted for its variety of round stones that look like eagle’ eggs. Legend has it that Queen Nam Phuong chose the beach for her own use while following King Bao Dai on a trip to the central region. Other attractions include Ham Ho, a 3km long river section with many big stones winding through old forests in Tay Son District, 55km from Quy Nhon. Ham Ho is famous for a variety of fish, especially plentiful when the river rises during flood seasons. It also is the site of the successful Tay Son uprising against the oppressive ruling dynasty. Thanh Mountain, which stands alongside the river like a city wall covered with moss and ancient roots, is another tourist draw. The four-star, 148- room Saigon-Quy Nhon Hotel is across from Quy Nhon municipal beach. Room prices for standard, superior, deluxe, suite and presidential suite range from US$40 to US$400. The Imperial Restaurant is known for its seafood and the Seaview Cafe provides an impressive view of the city. Other facilities include steam bath, sauna, Jacuzzi, spa, massage, fitness rooms and swimming pool.
